Southern Africa in Prophecy ?

Isa 5:8 Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!

Isa 5:9 In mine ears said the LORD of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant.

Isa 5:10 Yea, ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and the seed of an homer shall yield an ephah.

Isa 5:11 Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!

Isa 5:12 And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither consider the operation of his hands.

Isa 5:13 Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.

Isa 5:14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.

Isa 5:15 And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled:

Isa 5:16 But the LORD of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.

Isa 5:17 Then shall the lambs feed after their manner, and the waste places of the fat ones shall strangers eat.

Isa 5:18 Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope:

Isa 5:19 That say, Let him make speed, and hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!

Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Isa 5:21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

Isa 5:22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:

Isa 5:23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

Isa 5:24 Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

Isa 5:25 Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcases were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

Genesis 3-5
The Seed Plot of the Bible

Why study the book of Genesis? It is the book of beginnings: creation, man, women, sabbath, marriage, home, childhood, sin, murder, sacrifice, grace, trade, agriculture, city life, languages, ect. Genesis anticipates all false philosophies: atheism, pantheism, polytheism, materialism, humanism, evolution, and uniformism. All major doctrines have their roots in Genesis: sovereign election, salvation, justification by faith, believer's security, separation, disciplinary chastisement, divine incarnation, resurrection, priesthoods, and covenants.

THE PIVOTAL EPISTLE .
The Epistle to the Hebrews is one of the greatest theological treatises of the New Testament. This letter is, in a real sense, the "Leviticus" of the New Testament, detailing how the Lord Jesus Christ is both the fulfillment and the successor to all that had gone on before.

Most studies of the book of Hebrews begin by addressing the topic of it's authorship. Who wrote the book of Hebrews? The Bible doesn't tell us, and there are many theories. However the available evidence, we feel, seems to justify a Pauline ascription.

Some suggest that Apollos wrote this epistle, although there is not much evidence to support the theory. Furthermore, Apollos was from Alexandria, and yet even in Alexandria in the earliest times the book was associated with Paul. So, if Apollos was the author, somehow he didn't even convince his own hometown.

Others ascribe the book to Barnabas, but here again there is no evidence to support this theory. There are some spurious writings (that are not regarded as authentic) that were attributed to Barnabas, but their style is so different from the epistle to the Hebrews that if one can conclude that the writings attributed to Barnabas were at all indicative of Barnabas' style, he clearly didn't write the Epistle to the Hebrews.

There are many stylistic reasons that point to its Pauline authorship. Also, the Apostle Peter seems to seems to allude to this letter in 2 Peter 3:15-16:

And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you...

Peter here ascribes a letter written by Paul to the Hebrews. But the other 13 Pauline epistles all went to Gentile churches. So if Hebrews was not written by Paul, then there is a missing letter written by Paul to the Hebrews.

As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Here Peter is commenting on Paul's letter, saying that Paul had written some things that were hard to understand (indeed, the difficulties in Hebrews 6 and 10). For a more in depth discussion of the authorship of the book of Hebrews, listen to Chuck's verse-by-verse commentary.

The book of Hebrews describes how Jesus is the fulfillment of the Old Testament. The primary focus of this letter to believers is to press on to spiritual maturity. For anyone serious about their spiritual growth, a thorough study of the book of Hebrews is essential. To learn more, click on the links below.

ARE HUMANS A PLAGUE ON THE PLANET? -
Michelle Duggar of Tontitown, Arkansas is pregnant with her 18th child. Most kids have a tough time counting 10 siblings, even when adding stepbrothers and half-sisters. Yet, Michelle and her husband Jim Bob have produced, between just the two of them, 10 sons and seven daughters, and number 18 should be popping out sometime in September. Will this new baby be the last for Mrs. Duggar, now age 41? Maybe not. She says she and her husband will keep having children as long as God wills it.

Certain environmental groups, though, frown at large families like the Duggars. Followers of the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement (VHEMT) are purposefully not having children. They dream of a day when Earth is human-free and the environment can breeze onward without any people-prints, green or otherwise. Large families like the Duggars set the VHEMT goal of human extinction back a few feet.

"We've already exceeded Earth's carrying capacity for humans by quite a bit," VHEMT spokesman Les U. Knight told WorldNetDaily. "We are using up our resources. The best way to stop it is by not breeding. It's really the best way because the people we don't create don't exist, and so there's no impact on them." Knight doesn't advocate abortion, only contraception.

VHEMT is not alone in the view that humans are pests on the planet. Many extreme environmentalist groups have dreamed of lowering the human population as a way to stop the pollution and the carbon emissions and cutting of trees that humans cause. The Bible teaches that God formed humans in His image, and made them stewards over the Earth, responsible for managing the other creatures (Gen 1:26). But, some environmentalists believe humans are more like the vermin of the Earth, and should be culled, if not wiped out. The domestic sheep and cattle and peacocks will just have to fend for themselves. Environmentally friendly wolves will keep the deer populations from overgrazing. The gypsy moths will be free to destroy oak trees across the world.

The human population is dropping in some countries, and it has caused problems. With fewer children to work and to pay into the system, the elderly are finding they are having financial problems that the Duggars will never face; there aren't enough children to take care of them.

The government of Japan reported earlier this month that its population of children is lower now than it has ever been since 1908. Japan's elderly are a significantly growing part of the population; those aged 65 and older now make up 21.5 percent of the pie chart. If current birth rates remain unchanged in Japan, the government estimates that by the 2050s, the 65+ age group will be a whopping 40 percent of the population.

These figures promise problems for Japan, from labor shortages to a strain on government resources. Successful businessmen might be able to plan for their retirements, but the aging poor will be a heavy burden for the government - a government pulling less money from a shrinking number of young people. The retirement age in Japan has been raised from 60 to 65, and may push to 70. The government is focusing on encouraging companies to hire the elderly.

Japan is not alone. Many European countries face a child shortage. In Italy, for instance, women wait longer to start families, and tend to keep their litters small. There are many reasons, but a major one is that Italy is an expensive place to live. Throughout Europe, from Ireland to Norway to France to Greece, the birth rate is less than 2 children per women. According to 2004 figures, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Greece all had less than a 1.4 birth rate. (The birth rate is likely only as high as it is because of the Muslims in those countries having large families.) To replace themselves, the current populations in Europe would need to maintain a 2.1 birth rate. Either the Europeans will need to start having more babies, or else protect themselves with excellent retirement savings plans.

In the meanwhile, the Duggars a very happy. They have a 7000 square foot house, and all the children chip in to help keep things running. They might have a lot of mouths to feed, but they also have each other. And their children and grandchildren may very well be the ones the future Japanese turn to when they have nobody to do the work that needs to be done.

"So God created man in his image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." - Genesis 1:27-28

IN MEMORY OF THOSE .
It began on April 19, 1775 at the battle of Lexington and Concord. Just after sunrise, on that fateful spring morning, the blood of the first American patriots was spilled. It was this famous revolutionary battle that was preceded by the midnight ride of Paul Revere and made immortal by the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, who wrote:

"By the rude bridge that arched the flood
Their flag to April's breeze unfurled
Here once the embattled farmers stood
And fired the shot heard round the world."

The battle of Lexington and Concord marked the beginning of America's war for independence. From that day until this, many of our men and women have willingly given their lives for the cause of freedom – in many wars, on many continents, with varying degrees of support from the home front.

The blood shed on September 11, 2001 became the catalyst in the war on terrorism. That tragic event briefly united Americans in a common cause, however that unity has splintered. National tragedy may have amalgamated the masses, but growing differences in values and philosophy have driven a wedge down the middle of American society. Americans are fighting a battle both in foreign lands and here at home. In the war against terrorism our enemy is easily defined, however the domestic battle lines are more muddled. As a nation we have begun to abandon the faith and values of our founding fathers.

Let us assess the State of the Union in the mirror of God's Word: Homosexuality is accepted as simply "an alternative lifestyle." We murder babies that are socially inconvenient. We change marriage partners like a fashion statement. We have abandoned the sanctity of commitments in our families and in our businesses. Immorality and deceit have come to characterize the highest offices in our land. We have allowed God to be banished from public school classrooms and we have watched as religious expression is constrained under the auspices of "separation of church and state." Our mainline media takes pride in forming public opinion rather than informing it, which had been its sacred role in a representative republic. Our culture has disconnected character from destiny. Our entertainments celebrate adultery, fornication, violence, aberrant sexual practices and every imaginable form of evil. We have become the primary exporters of everything that God abhors.

Today, in the Middle East, thousands of United States soldiers are fighting to protect the values and freedoms that we too often take for granted. Please set aside time this week to pray for spiritual healing for our nation, wisdom for our leaders, and safety for our soldiers fighting overseas. This Memorial Day don't forget to take time to honor those who have given their lives for the cause of freedom.

"It is, in a way, an odd thing to honor those who died in defense of our country, in defense of us, in wars afar away. The imagination plays a trick. We see these soldiers in our mind as old and wise. We see them as something like the Founding Fathers, grave and gray-haired. But most of them were boys when they died, and they gave up two lives, the one they were living and the one they would have lived. When they died, they gave up their chance to be husbands and fathers and grandfathers. They gave up their chance to be revered old men. They gave up everything for our country, for us. And all we can do is remember." - Ronald Reagan

Technology and the Bible - DVD by Chuck Missler

"Except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened:"

If we were reading this in 1860 - before the Civil War - we would have a difficult time anticipating that "all flesh" could wipe itself out with muskets and bayonets! But today a potential nuclear cloud hangs over every geopolitical decision on the Planet Earth.

We take passages in the Bible for granted, often failing to recognize the technological changes that are implied by them. In this briefing we've assembled a small sampling of technology statements, which we hope will reveal a perspective that may surprise many.

The Grace of God Revealed: His righteousness,

Our iniquity and His Remedy through grace.

Romans is the definitive statement of Christian doctrine - the most comprehensive book in the New Testament. Its impact on history is unequalled. This is the first in a trilogy on Habakkuk 2:4, "the just shall live by faith." Which later became the mantra of the reformation. It has an international outlook: As a Roman citizen, and with both Hebrew and Greek culture of history, religion, philosophy, poetry, science, music, etc., Paul's Epistle to the Romans is the most profound writing that exists anywhere. It is the definitive analysis on sin, the law, and grace, and it answers the most profound question:

It may be that Deity can forgive sins, but I do not see how. (Socrates, 500 B.C.)

God's will is perfect. Why then do we kick so hard against it? When good things happen we praise and glorify Him. When supposedly bad things happen we doubt God and quench His Spirit. Without clarity and understanding of His Will, life becomes a mystery in which we are seemingly thrown about by circumstances. God, however, has promised in His Word that His will is not to be a mystery to His own. He promises to reveal to us His wonder-filled life, crated before the foundations of the world. The classroom He often uses to teach us this lesson is called the "night season."

King's High Way - Way of Agape

We react harshly to those who misuse and abuse us. Afterwards, we feel so badly for these loveless acts and long to be able to reflect God's Agape Love. God, through His Word, has provided the answers. W must find His way and follow it, otherwise everything we do will be worthless

King's High Way - Be Ye Transformed

Nancy Missler - Be Ye Transformedave you ever felt like two people? One that thinks and acts totally opposite to God's ordinances and the other who watches in horror and revulsion. We are truly fallen creatures, trapped and enslaved by our own "flesh." God has promised, however, that we can shed our old and corrupt garment and be transformed into a new person - one holy enough to be worthy to boldly approach the very throne of God. This kind of victorious life is there for the asking, and God has laid out a simple path. We must be transformed by the moment-by-moment renewing of our minds..
